The Gladiator Sports Summer Classic Basketball Tournament will begin on June 6, 2015 and continue through the league's PLAYOFFS and CHAMPIONSHIP. The tournament ends on Championship Day, August 8, 2015.

MISSION

To provide a safe, friendly and spiritual environment for youth to learn and enhance their skills in basketball while increasing communication skills, sense of responsibility, trust and respect.

The Gladiator Sports Summer Classic Basketball Tournament will be played at:

Gladiator Sports Summer Classic Basketball Tournament games are scheduled for Saturday play and feature teams from the Tri State area.

Each team is allowed a roster of up to twelve (12) players, and up to two (2) coaches. Each team plays a minimum of seven (8) games, including playoffs.

All Gladiator Sports Summer Classic Basketball Tournament games will be officiated by certified, experienced referees. At the conclusion of the Gladiator Sports Summer Classic Basketball Tournament, statuesque trophy awards will be presented to the players of the Championship teams.

To participate in the Gladiator Sports Summer Classic Basketball Tournament,
application and tournament fee must be submitted no later than June 5, 2015.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

** All payments must be made by cash, checks or money order.
** Do not mail cash.
** Make checks and money orders payable to: Gladiator Sports, Inc.

** Note: Your signature on the Gladiator Sports Summer Classic Basketball Tournament application qualifies this agreement as a binding contract between you (the signee, representative of your team / organization) and Gladiator Sports, Inc.

Player eligibility

  • Future Star (8U) players will be considered ineligible if s/he reaches 9th birthday before the first scheduled game.
  • Biddy (10U) players will be considered ineligible if s/he reaches 11th birthday before the first scheduled game.
  • Midget (11U) players will be considered ineligible if s/he reaches 12th birthday before the first scheduled game
  • Junior (13U) players will be considered ineligible if s/he reaches 14th birthday before the first scheduled game.
  • Jr. Varsity (15U) players will be considered ineligible if s/he reaches 16th birthday before the first scheduled game.
  • Varisty (17U) players will be considered ineligible if s/he reaches 18th birthday before the first scheduled game.
  • Player's age will be confirmed by recent school or state issued ID with legible date of birth on ID / Birth Certificate.
  • Any team found to be using ineligible players will forfeit all games in which said player participates and is also subject to ejection from the tournament.

Rosters

  • Each team is allowed up to twelve (12) players and two (2) coaches on their official roster.
  • Rosters will be frozen at the start of the second game.

Game Day Conduct

  • Teams must have team uniforms. Players must wear shorts (without pockets) on their natural waistline.
  • Teams must be ready to play at the scheduled game time. The forfeit clock will begin five minutes after starting time. The opposing team will be awarded 2 points for every minute after the forfeit clock starts. 14 minutes after the game start time, the game will be declared a forfeit.
  • Players are expected to treat their teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, tournament staff and spectators with respect. No foul language is permitted.
  • Players are expected to greet (slap hands with) opposing players at the beginning and end of each game. Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated.
  • Only players and coaches are allowed to sit on the bench during the game.

Rules

  • All games will be four (4) quarters.
  • Each quarter will run seven (7) minutes Running Time for Future Star, Biddy, Midget and Junior divisions and eight (8) minutes Running Time for Jr. Varsity and Varsity divisions.
  • Time clock will run until the last minute of 2nd and 4th quarters.
  • The clock will stop on timeouts, injuries, and referee's discretion.
  • Each team will receive five (5) timeouts per game: three full timeouts and two thirty (30) second timeouts.
  • In the event of a tie at the end of regulation, there will be an additional three (3) minute overtime period. Time stops on dead balls during final minute of each overtime period.

Fees

Future Star (8U) $200.00 per team plus $25 ref fee per game
Biddy (9U) $225.00 per team plus $25 ref fee per game
Midget (11U) $250.00 per team plus $30 ref fee per game
Junior (13U) $300.00 per team plus $35 ref fee per game
Jr. Varsity (15U) $325.00 per team plus $40 ref fee per game
Varsity (17U) $375.00 per team plus $40 ref fee per game

Individuals - $75.00 per player
