Gladiators vs. Delaware
Saturday, December 20, 2008

In the 1st road trip of the 2008 - 2009 Gladiator season, Gladiator Sports travelled to the Jackson Street Boys and Girls Club in Delaware.

Jackson Street Boys and Girls Club

Greater Milford 43 - Gladiators 34

In Game 1, visiting Greater Milford defeated the Gladiators 43 - 34. Greater Milford ran the Gladiators off the court in the 1st half as Nile Lewis was in early foul trouble. Turnovers and Greater Milford's 3 point shooting helped put the Gladiators in a double digit hole. Halftime adjustments by the Gladiator coaching staff helped them fight back into the game. Guards Dejaunte Washington and Ronald Bryant caught fire as the Gladiators pulled to within 1. Once again turnovers allowed Greater Milford to pull away and secure the victory.

Gladiators 21 - Jackson 9

Kyle Kemp and Kevin Johnson lead an undermanned 10U Gladiator squad to a 21 - 9 victory over Jackson St. Although the Gladiators were shorthanded, they were able to use their size to outmuscle Delaware on the boards. Tenacious Gladiator defense caused several turnovers that they were able to turn into fast break points.

Gladiators 63 - Delaware 54

Julian Nicholas and Jeremiah Aska sparked a 2nd half come-from-behind victory over Delaware. In the 1st half, Delaware used their small court to their advantage as they bombed the Gladiators from 3 point range. The Gladiators seemed out of sync despite welcoming back Cyrano Parsons and Gladiator standout, Chris Craig. After a halftime adjustment that took away Delaware's 3 point shooting, the Gladiators started their comeback. Julian Nicholas' and Jeremiah Aska's defense caused several turnovers that got the Gladaitors back in the game. Chris Craig took care of the rest of the offense as he was almost unstoppable. The Gladiators were able to cruise to a strong victory once they figured out Delaware defense.

Gladiators 55 - Delaware 48

Nile Lewis, Ronald Bryant, and Dejaunte Washington lead the Gladiators to a 55 - 48 come-from-behind victory over Delaware. Once again, 3 point shooting by a Delaware team as well as sloppy play by the Gladiators lead to a double digit deficit. Nile Lewis was able to stay out of foul trouble which was a huge plus for the Gladiators. In the 2nd half the defense shut down Delaware 3 point shooters and limited them to one shot. This enabled the Gladiators to come back and secure the victory.
